What is SilentShield?
SilentShield is an invisible bot protection service that uses behavior analysis to distinguish humans from bots. Unlike traditional CAPTCHAs, SilentShield works silently in the background and only shows challenges when suspicious behavior is detected.
How does SilentShield differ from reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha?
SilentShield focuses on invisible protection. Instead of making every user solve a puzzle, it analyzes mouse movements, typing patterns, and scrolling behavior to determine if a visitor is human. Challenges are only shown to suspicious visitors, resulting in a much better user experience.
Does SilentShield slow down my website?
No. The widget script is lightweight (under 15 KB gzipped) and loads asynchronously. Behavior analysis runs in the background without affecting page performance or user interaction.
Which forms does SilentShield protect?
SilentShield automatically detects and protects all HTML forms on the page. You can also configure specific form selectors using form rules to customize the behavior per form.
Is SilentShield GDPR compliant?
Yes. SilentShield does not use cookies, does not track users across websites, and does not store personally identifiable information. Behavior data is analyzed in real time and discarded after the session. Our servers are located in the EU.
What happens if the SilentShield API is down?
SilentShield is designed to fail open. If the API is unreachable, forms continue to work normally without bot protection. We maintain 99.9% uptime SLA for Pro and Enterprise plans.
