What is SilentShield?
SilentShield is an invisible bot protection service that uses behavior analysis to distinguish humans from bots. Unlike traditional CAPTCHAs, SilentShield works silently in the background and only shows challenges when suspicious behavior is detected.
How does SilentShield differ from reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha?
SilentShield focuses on invisible protection. Instead of making every user solve a puzzle, it analyzes mouse movements, typing patterns, and scrolling behavior to determine if a visitor is human. Challenges are only shown to suspicious visitors, resulting in a much better user experience.
Does SilentShield slow down my website?
The widget script transfers about 49 KB (gzip, measured on 23 Sep 2026) and is loaded with “defer”, so it does not block page rendering. Behaviour analysis runs in the background while visitors use the page.
Which forms does SilentShield protect?
SilentShield automatically detects and protects all HTML forms on the page. You can also configure specific form selectors using form rules to customize the behavior per form.
Is SilentShield GDPR compliant?
Yes, SilentShield can be used in a GDPR-compliant way. It does not use cookies and does not track users across websites. The IP address is used only for the check and is not stored in plain text; behavior data is deleted after your plan's retention period. Our servers are located in Germany.
What happens if the SilentShield API is down?
SilentShield is built to fail open: if the API is unreachable, whether your forms keep working depends on your integration — without bot protection. A committed availability arises exclusively from a separately agreed SLA; without one we give no availability guarantee.
