The three categories

AI search

Recommendation: allow

Your content can appear in AI answers, linked back to you.

AI agents

Recommendation: watch

A person asked — e.g. ChatGPT fetching one of your pages for a user.

AI training

Recommendation: block

Your content is copied to train models, usually with nothing in return.

Blocking AI search also removes you from AI answers. That is a visibility decision, not just a security one — block training if you want to keep the reach.

  • Maximum visibility — Everything allowed.
  • Balanced — Search allowed, agents watched, training blocked.
  • Maximum protection — Only AI search allowed, everything else blocked.
